US regulators have taken a significant step toward clarifying the legal framework for spot crypto trading. The SEC and CFTC, under 'Project Crypto-Crypto Sprint,' will collaborate to review filings from exchanges seeking to list certain spot crypto products. This initiative focuses on leveraged, margined, and financed retail commodity transactions.

The MOVE follows recommendations from Donald Trump’s Working Group on Digital Assets, which emphasized the need for clearer regulations in the digital asset space. The agencies' report aligns with this goal, stating their readiness to engage with trading venues to ensure fair and orderly markets for spot crypto products.

Previously, ambiguity in the law created uncertainty for US exchanges and investors. The new guidance is expected to boost market confidence and expand access to digital assets for American investors.
